The 2020 MACUHO Executive Board Nominations are now OPEN!

 

Executive Board elections occur every year at the MACUHO Annual Conference during the Annual Business Meeting. Elections are a crucial part of our association to remain a sustainable and reputable organization for the housing and residence life profession. Your candidacy for these significant leadership positions is vital. Your consideration is a positive step for your professional career and the strategic direction of our Association. You are encouraged, as a dedicated leader, to serve diligently, take action appropriately, and give your best to ensure we remain preeminent in our industry and be accountable to our mission.

 

The Past President of MACUHO facilitates the Executive Board election process and is now accepting nominations for the following positions:

 

Presidential Cycle (3-year term, ending Fall 2023):

  • Vice-President / President-Elect (Year 1) Assists President in all MACUHO business (including conference and meeting coordination), manages new Leadership Council appointments and transitions, represents MACUHO at ACUHO-I Annual Conference
  • President (Year 2) Oversees all MACUHO business as primary leader of the Association, manages Annual Conference and all meetings, represents MACUHO at ACUHO-I Annual Conference and NEACUHO Annual Conference
  • Past President (Year 3)--Mentors and supports current President and all of MACUHO Leadership, oversees elections process, provides historical context for all leadership decisions

Treasurer (2-year term, ending Fall 2022)

 

Director of Membership Development (2-year term, ending Fall 2022)

 

Director of Technology Initiatives (2-year term, ending Fall 2022)

 

Director of Annual Programs (2-year term, ending Fall 2022)

 

Criteria for Eligibility

To meet criteria for eligibility, candidates must:

  • Work at a current MACUHO member institution.
  • Be in good standing with MACUHO (i.e., no outstanding/pending legal or financial transactions with the association).
  • Be willing to attend the following meetings:  MACUHO Annual Conference (Pre- and Post-Conference Board Meetings), In-Person Executive Board Meetings (December, February, June, and September/October); attendance at occasional regional, association professional development conferences and special events (approximately 3-7 days per year); additional online meetings may be scheduled based on the needs of the President and the Executive Board
  • Personally contribute one item each year for the MACUHO Basket Raffle and support the ACUHO-I Foundation--each Executive Board member is expected to personally donate to the MACUHO Foundation in support of the Lisa A. Pierce Foundation supporting the VIP Program.  No minimum amount is required, however we would ask that a $100 annual gift is submitted.
  • Each Executive Board member is expected to serve diligently and competently.
  • Members must attend all meetings and conduct themselves with honor, integrity, fairness, prudence, and in keeping with the mission, values, and vision of the association.
  • Members must keep updated on association and collegiate housing profession trends and always act in the best interests of the association.

Executive Board Nominations will close at 11:59 pm on Monday, August 31, 2020.

All Executive Board candidate materials are due by 11:59 pm on Monday, September 14, 2020.
