Anti-Oppression Resources

Anti-Oppression Resources

MACUHO,

We share these resources with a call to action. We are responsible for dismantling white supremacy in our communities, organizations, institutions, and homes. But most importantly, for those of us who are white, we are responsible for dismantling white supremacy in ourselves.

Before sharing this list of resources, guides, links, etc… we are reminded of a quote from this Medium article by Catherine Pugh, Esq.:

Oprah’s internet has volumes of “White Ally” guides: Becoming an Anti-Racist White Ally; The Challenges of Becoming a White Ally; Guidelines for Being A Strong White Ally; Becoming A Trustworthy White Ally; and, my all-time favorite, The White Ally Playbook. Really, though? Really? Here is my book: Stop Being Racist; Get Your People, Too. That’s it. That’s the whole book.

Keep this in mind as a litmus test as you confront racism in all of its forms.

Information about MACUHO's Identity Roundtables (open, virtual Zoom discussion groups):

As part of our efforts to continuously improve the ways we support our membership, we offer identity-based roundtables that are regularly open on a reoccurring schedule for the below affinity groups. If you hold one (or more!) of the below identities, we invite you into these spaces to be in community with those who share your identity. Each group meets monthly according to the below schedules. Drop in whenever you feel called to participate, or attend your community’s roundtable on a regular basis—whatever works best for you.
