Housing & Facilities Operations

Our Mission

The HFO Committee provides educational and professional development opportunities at MACUHO on topics that center on assignments, custodial, conference services, maintenance, and capital projects. Focusing on housing and facilities issues, HFO Committee members share and learn with each other on how to create and maintain facilities that harbor a student centered living environment that encourages their academic and personal success.

There will be a mass mailing coming out through the MACUHO Website but in the meantime it is Great to get a personal invite from the members of the HFO Committee. SPRING WALLS TO HALLS EVENTS The HFO Committee is pleased to announce this year’s Spring Walls to Halls Event. Join Us On Thursday, April 6th at one of the following events; East Stroudsburg University “Constructing New Housing: Lessons Learned” We will be discussing lessons learned from Phase One, where two new suite style residence halls were erected in 2012, while we are currently constructing a third suite which will open in 2017. We will also be touring the new building, discussing special features, and having roundtables/Q&A’s with both the resident directors who live in the suites erected in 2012, and our developer/construction team in charge of the project. Albright College “Under Construction: Exploring Our New Apartments and Residency Requirement” In addition to recently implementing a four-year residency requirement for students, Albright College is constructing an apartment-style residence hall to open in August 2017. We will be discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by our new policies, third-party development/construction, renovation projects, and aging facilities. The day will include a brief presentation, tour of our facilities, lunch, and a roundtable discussion with Albright professional staff.
